The first day on any new keyboard is the awkward one. Your thumbs have years of muscle memory for the old key positions, and the new keys are never quite where they expect.
Clink's answer is to move the keys to your thumbs rather than the other way round. Key height, width, spacing and roundness are all adjustable in Keys. If your thumbs keep landing short, make the keys taller instead of retraining your hands.

Two things work for you quietly in the background: autocorrect learns the fixes you make as you make them, and adaptive hitboxes resize each key's touch target toward the letter you're most likely to hit next, without moving anything on screen.
