Clink is not in the keyboard list
Enable Clink in iOS Keyboard settings, then hold the globe key. iOS uses its own keyboard in secure fields, and some apps block custom keyboards altogether. If Clink closes on its own, reopen it and check Stability.
- Open the Settings app.
- General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard…
- Add Clink under Third-Party Keyboards.
Another keyboard keeps coming up
iOS remembers the last keyboard you used in each app, so you switch once per app.
Switch once in that app and it sticks there. No keyboard can be made the default for everything, which is iOS rather than Clink.
It disappears mid-sentence
That's iOS shutting the keyboard down for memory. It writes no crash report when it does, so Clink keeps its own note.
Clink keeps its own record of every time that happens, because iOS writes none. Search for Stability in the app to read it.

Password fields, and apps that refuse
iOS puts its own keyboard in secure fields, so a password box is never Clink. A few apps turn custom keyboards off altogether, and nothing on your side changes that.
A tool is locked
Almost always the App Store hasn't been asked yet on this device, rather than anything being lost. A restore settles it, and it costs nothing.
No sound, or no haptics
Both need Full Access, and key sounds also follow the ring and silent switch. Check the switch on the side of the phone before anything else.
