Add it in Settings

Install Clink from the App Store first, then open Settings. Clink appears in the keyboard list alongside any other keyboard you have installed.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard…
  3. Add Clink under Third-Party Keyboards.

If Clink isn’t on that list, open the app once and look again. iOS only offers a keyboard it has seen run.

Switch to it while you type

In any app, tap the 🌐 globe key to switch to Clink.

Hold the globe key rather than tapping it and you get the whole list, which is quicker once you have three or four keyboards installed.

iOS remembers the last keyboard you used in each app, so you switch once per app.

Full Access

Only needed for haptics, clipboard history and custom sounds. Everything else works without it, and Clink never sends your typing anywhere.

You can skip this and come back to it later. Nothing about ordinary typing is waiting on it.

Paste from Other Apps

iOS asks “Allow Paste?” every time Clink reads your clipboard. That's clipboard history, translating something you copied, and AI actions that work on copied text.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Apps → Clink → Paste from Other Apps.
  3. Choose Allow, and iOS stops asking.

Finding your way around

Clink has three tabs. Home is how the keyboard looks and behaves, Tools is what sits on it, and Search is for when you know what a setting does but not where it lives.

  • Home
  • Tools
  • Search

Search reaches every settings page and every question in the app’s own FAQ, so it is usually faster than remembering which screen something is on.

The introduction that ran the first time you opened Clink can be replayed from General, under Onboarding.
